The five overlapping segments give the sabatons enough articulation for natural foot movement. Therefore, the plates can move over each other when you step, bend your foot, or drop to a knee.
At only 625 g (1.38 lb) per pair, these sabatons add relatively little weight to the lower leg. As a result, they work well for fighters who want basic foot protection without making the boots noticeably heavier.

Light, compact, and fingers feel safe AF
Super light compared to a regular gauntlet, but still gives really solid protection where it matters. Great for shield work because it doesn’t feel bulky or slow you down, and the fingers stay well covered even when things get rough. Exactly what I wanted from a shield mitten.
