Description

The Basic Titanium Gorget protects the neck, collarbones, and shoulders while keeping the construction compact and lightweight. Its narrower side plates also make it easier to integrate with other armor pieces.

We designed the protective plates to be less wide than those on our Advanced Gorget. As a result, they can fit more easily under cuirass shoulder straps. The compact profile may also let the gorget work under some brigandine models that lack integrated shoulder protection.

Compact Protection for a Complete Armor Setup

The Basic Titanium Gorget uses 9 protective plates to cover the neck, collarbone area, and shoulders. However, we kept the side plates relatively narrow. This reduces unnecessary overlap with the rest of your upper-body armor.

That difference matters when you wear a cuirass. The shoulder straps have more room to sit over the gorget instead of competing with large plates underneath them. In addition, the compact construction may fit under some brigandine designs that leave the shoulder and collarbone area without their own rigid protection.

The segmented construction also allows the gorget to follow your upper body instead of creating one large rigid shell. Therefore, you can turn and tilt your head naturally during fighting, grappling, and clinches.

1.5 mm Titanium with Reinforcing Ribs

The plates are made from 1.5 mm (0.06 in) VT-1 titanium. Each plate also has reinforcing ribs that increase its rigidity without requiring substantially thicker and heavier plates.

As a result, the L size weighs only 0.67 kg (1.48 lb). This keeps additional weight around the neck and shoulders low, which becomes especially noticeable during longer training sessions and tournament days.

Reinforced Cotton Base

The titanium plates are mounted to a padded cotton base. In addition, every rivet that attaches a plate uses a leather washer. The washer spreads the load around the attachment point and helps reduce wear on the textile base during regular use.

A leather adjustment strap lets you regulate the fit and keep the gorget securely positioned with the rest of your armor.
