Basic Plate Aventail
Standalone neck protection for armored combat. The Basic Plate Aventail is a padded collar with fan-shaped hardened steel plates riveted around the neck and shoulder line. It is not a helmet-mounted chainmail aventail. Instead, it works as separate neck, throat, and upper-shoulder protection for buhurt, duels, and full-contact medieval combat.

Coverage and Protection
The wide plate layout covers the collarbone zone, sides of the neck, back of the neck, and upper shoulders. As a result, this plate collar helps protect areas that often take hits during clinches, falls, and close-range exchanges. In addition, the overlapping plates spread the force of strikes instead of letting one point take the full impact.
Comfort and Fit
The steel plates are riveted to a black padded fabric base, which improves comfort and adds shock absorption under the metal layer. Moreover, the two front buckle straps let you adjust the fit quickly and keep the neck guard closed during movement. This makes the aventail practical for running, grappling, kneeling, and getting back up after falls.
Armor Compatibility
This plate aventail is designed to be worn over padded armor, gambesons, or brigandine collar areas as extra neck protection. Therefore, it works well as a simple upgrade when you need more coverage around the neck and upper shoulders without adding a full helmet-mounted aventail.

It fits very well, just losses enough that I can breath yet it tight enough to stay still, I’m really impressed
The shield not only blocks the HATERS but also that halbards that sneak in to get ya.
Love the shield, but don’t be like me and forget to ask for paint job hahah, they do great custom work to. Still holding together after 3 years of abuse hahaha
I’ve had mine for 2-3 years now, the hol up still like new, can take a chop from a 2 handed, and still hold together well.
Remember your armor is only as good as you keep up with maintenance and care.
